Animation. Regent’s Place

The project is part of a ‘Creative Curriculum’  school outreach programme, supported by British Land and Regent’s Place, developed and managed by Open City and delivered by artist Reza Ben Gajra and musician Luke Crookes. The  programme aims to engage pupils from neighbouring schools on behalf of British Land and Regent’s Place allowing pupils to experience and learn through the artwork at Regent’s Place and its surrounding built environment. The programme creates a platform for discussion and learning between pupils and professional artists, through on-site workshops followed by in-school creative workshops.

To start the project

The children went on a trip to Regents Place, to look at the buildings, surroundings and sculptures. They gathered ideas and inspiration for their animation. I made this film to inspire them to capture their ideas; the children watched the film in class before taking the trip

To end the project

The children watched their animation on a big screen in Regents Place, the place they took their inspiration from in the beginning. It was a beautiful day and a great way to celebrate the children’s work, many members of the public also enjoyed the films.

The children also made bug hotels, you can see the pictures below.
